23030The U.S. IAB Mobile Marketing Center of Excellence, IAB Europe and IHS revealed that global figures for mobile advertising revenue leaped a massive 82.8 percent to $8.9 billion (€6.9 billion) in 2012 from $5.3 billion (€3.8 billion) in 2011 – highlighting a strong positive growth story taking place across mobile advertising formats. With growth rates of 88.8 percent in search, 87.3 percent in display and 40.2 percent in messaging at a global level, ad spend in these formats reflects bullish growth in the sector.

Your first “law” of attraction marketing is “Know your Market“, I am going to go over exactly what this means for you. Believe me, this is going to go against everything you have been told/taught by your leaders and you may think I’m crazy. Yet it is what my mentor has taught me, and being he is a multi-millionaire of the industry I am listening. I must give credit where credit is due, everything I am learning comes from my mentor Cedrick Harris if you do not know who he is, I would suggest looking him up as he is a top leader in the industry and knows what he is doing!

Marketing your work.

When you have zero budget to pay for professional advertising, one is forced to fall back on one’s own imagination to try and capture an audience for your work. I’m fortunate in that my publisher provides very professional looking covers for my books, with the exception of Dawn Rising. This is a work in progress and so has a temporary cover.

I’ve tried to provide “adverts” that compliment the books, whilst at the same time endeavoring not to overwhelm people with my “hype.” That said, I remember a fellow member of a writing group flatly stating that he was sick of seeing authors self promoting on Facebook. In my view this was an unnecessary remark, since the facility exists to “hide” anything from your news feed that annoys, God knows I do.
